Bath Time

I gave Sookie a bath tonight, which she was not very happy about. She is not really one for being put in a tub and having water poured down all over her. I tried to get a decent picture of her in there, but she wanted to get out of the tub so badly and was moving around so much that this was the best I could do:

When she gets a bath she has to have a prescription shampoo rubbed onto her skin that helps to get rid of her acne. It has to be left on her for around ten minutes, so her bath lasts a bit longer than a normal dog's which of course does not help matters at all. Sookie has to stay in the bathroom while the shampoo sets into her skin as she'll rub the shampoo all over the carpet and furniture if I let her roam around. She dislikes this just as much as the bath itself- actually probably even more.

"When can I get out of here, mom??"

However, once I let her out the door after I've washed off the shampoo and dried her, she gets so excited and just goes insane! Here is the video I captured of her on the bed right after she was finished her bath (Sorry for the loud singing in the background, I think The Voice was on the TV at the time):

  2. Haha, my dogs are the same way. Well, Hatter is. She SOBS when she's in the tub and grabs onto my arms. It's sort of funny, but I feel bad laughing at her when she's so unhappy.

  4. Baths bring out the worst in us! And we LOVE to scratch into sheets too, even without a bath to motivate us.
